Malmesbury shale, Glenrosa and Hutton. The vineyards are mainly planted in deep red soils in Stellenbosch and the Swartland.
Rich aromas of dried apricot, honey, lemon-lime and hints of vanilla with floral notes. The lively palate offers generous fresh fruit and crisp acidity.
Grapes were hand-harvested early in the morning, de-stemmed and crushed before being lightly pressed. Skin contact was limited to 4 hours and the free run juice drained off to settle overnight before inoculation with yeast. The fermentation took place in 400 litre barrels, followed by maturation in French barrels for 9 months.
