Mindful Immersions in the Movement Studio

Mindful Immersions at Spier Spa invites you to a Sunday morning of movement, breathwork, journaling, and meditation to slow down and let go.

There is something quietly radical about setting aside a Sunday morning, not for errands or obligations, but simply to slow down and show up for yourself. To take time to notice what you’ve been carrying – the mental load, the unfinished thoughts, the endless to-do list – and, perhaps, to set some of it down.

That is the spirit behind Mindful Immersions, a new monthly series at the Spier Spa. Held on the first Sunday of each month, each session runs for two and a half hours in the spa’s Movement Studio. The group is kept deliberately small – no more than 10 people – so that the experience feels personal and space can be held for each participant.

The morning begins with an intentional welcome, a moment to settle in and exhale before anything else is asked of you. From there, guided breathwork and mindful movement help to open the body and ease the nervous system, followed by a sound journey that carries you into a deeply restorative state. The spa’s tea ritual invites a further slowing down. There is also time for journalling before the session closes with a shared meditation.

A year of Mindful Immersion themes

Each month’s session is shaped by the rhythm of the season. The themes for 2026 are:

April 12 – Let It Fall Away | Releasing what no longer serves. A focus on surrender, softening and letting go.

May 3 – The Last Leaf | Reflecting on completion and cycles. A focus on closure, finishing, and gently ending what needs to end.

June 7 – Homecoming | Returning to your inner sanctuary. A focus on belonging and nervous system regulation.

July 5 – Deep Roots | Cultivating steadiness and resilience. A focus on grounding, stability and inner support.

August 2 – Stillness in the Storm | Finding calm in the midst of life’s ebbs and flows. A focus on resilience, inner calm and staying present through challenge.

September 6 – Renew and Reset | Welcoming spring’s fresh energy. A focus on clearing, renewal and revitalisation.

October 4 – Seeds of Intention | Planting intentions with care. A focus on trust, patience and tending what wants to grow.

November 1 – Blooming | Allowing yourself to become your most vibrant self. A focus on vitality, confidence and expression.

December 6 – Year-End Reset (Exhale) | A gentle pause before the year closes. A focus on rest, reflection, nervous system downshift and completion.

Everything you need to know

Mindful Immersions begin on Sunday, 12 April, thereafter on the first Sunday of each month. Sessions run from 10h00 to 12h30. The cost is R1,400 per person, with lunch available at an additional R450 per person. Places are limited to 10 per session. To reserve yours, contact spa@spier.co.za
