Gemma goes hunting
FEBRUARY 24, 2014
Recently Gemma, one of Eagle Encounters' more adventurous spotted eagle owls, was found hiding behind the delicious monsters in the owl enclosure. We discovered that she was hiding a baby olive house snake in her beak.
Gemma didn’t quite know what to do with the prize she had caught. The snake fought back and started to bite her underneath her wing. Mortified, Gemma dropped the snake and went off to sulk on the rockery. Both owl and snake are alive and well, and very happy to have nothing more to do with each other.
