Spier Receives Top Awards At Three International Wine Competitions
This year’s prestigious international wine competition, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, saw a myriad oenologists, sommeliers, wine tasters and wine lovers congregate in Bratislava, Slovakia to select and celebrate the top achievers.The competition, considered by many the world championship of wine making, awarded Spier four silver medals this year. They were given to the 21 Gables Chenin Blanc 2011, the 21 Gables Pinotage 2010, the Creative Block 2 2012 and the Naledi Pinotage 2010.
Spier also brought home seven medals from this year’s International Wine Challenge, renowned for its logistical proficiency and rigorous selection methods. Four Silver medals were awarded for the 21 Gables Chenin Blanc 2011, the 21 Gables Pinotage 2010, the Creative Block 2 2012 and the Creative Block 3 2010. Three Bronze medals were awarded to the Creative Block 5 2010, the Savanha Naledi Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 and the Vintage Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2012.
The final wine competition entered by Spier recently is the Decanter World Wine Awards which took place in London this year and celebrated its 10th anniversary. Typically, this competition is a week long process involving over 200 judges.
We are delighted to announce that Spier was awarded five medals at this competition, including a Gold medal for the Creative Block 3 2010. Additionally two Silver medals were awarded for the Savanha Naledi Pinotage 2010 and the Creative Block 5 2010, as well as two Bronze medals for the Vintage Selection Pinotage 2012 and the Savanha Naledi Cabernet Sauvignon 2010.
