Spier Takes Home 25 Veritas Medals!
Spier scooped up 25 awards, with two Double Gold’s for the Spier Creative Block 3 2011 and the Woolworths Private Collection Chenin Blanc 2011, and six Golds.
The Veritas Wine 2013 Awards was announced at a formal awards function on Saturday, 5 October, with 1792 wines and brandies vying for the prestigious double gold Veritas medal. Following five days of strict judging, 1 442 medals were awarded: 68 (3.7%) were honoured with double gold, while 166 (9.2%) won gold, 526 (29.3%) silver and 682 (38%) bronze.
A total of 10 wineries clinched two double gold medals each: Spier, Delaire, Graff, Eagles’ Nest, Flagstone, Graham Beck, Kanonkop, Rustenburg, Simonsig, Tokara, Windmeul.
