Spier Wins Gold At Renowned Decanter World Wine Awards
We’re very excited to share the news that several of our farm-favourite wines have been crowned winners at the 20th annual Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWAs).
The world's largest and most influential wine competition, the DWWAs are trusted by consumers and the wine trade alike. It’s no surprise why, with such a rigorous judging process and impressive judging panel of 237 international wine experts and 70 Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers.
Winning at the DWWAs is a significant accolade, and it reinforces Spier’s straightforward ethos when it comes to making wine: good soil, good people, and good vines lead to good wines.
South African wines were awarded 595 medals, with two Best in Show, four Platinum, 30 Gold, 249 Silver and 310 Bronze. Spier’s wins include 1 Gold and 9 Silver medals.

Regenerative farming and organic principles guide everything we do at Spier – so it’s very satisfying to see such an appetite for our approach and, of course, our wines.”
