Positions Available
Cowshed Cashier
Assist guests at checkout points by ringing up items purchased and taking payment for these items. Upsell products and wine with confidence and enthusiasm, demonstrating service excellence to guests while maintaining a positive work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Ring up deli purchases with energy, efficiency and enthusiasm - service with a smile
- Upsell food and wine with confidence to convert visitors to being Spier brand ambassadors
- Use POS system competently and follow departmental procedures correctly
- Engage and welcome guests in a warm yet professional manner, either by telephone or in person
- Handle all necessary financial transactions with ease, including cash and credit card transactions and cash up procedures
- Complete all assigned administrative functions and daily tasks with diligence and competence.
- Report complaints and/ or any incidents to management promptly, helping to find solutions where possible
- Maintain a positive work environment through compliance with quality and operational standards and great teamwork
- Assist with OE, stocktaking, and any other ad hoc requests as required, ensuring optimum service delivery
- To be aware of and act in accordance with health and safety and fire safety procedures
- Able to work shifts and cross-flex between departments as per operational demand
- Proactively promote all Spier experiences on site and be knowledgeable about what we have to offer

Knowledge, skills and qualities
- Competent numeracy and literacy skills is essential
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English, other language(s) desirable
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and Hygiene Standards necessary
- Able to function under pressure and be self-motivated
- Able to deal with people at all levels with confidence and ease
- Exude friendliness and a welcoming disposition
- Able to lift heavy items
- A committed team member, willing to cooperate with others
- A vibrant and responsible approach with a cheerful and service-oriented outlook
Qualifications and experience
- At least one year’s experience in a similar customer service role
- Knowledge of a POS system necessary – Pilot POS experience beneficial
