Meet The Team: Samuel Moloi
Spier is home to a diverse bunch of passionate people, doing what they love, and committed to making a difference every day. Nursery Supervisor Samuel Moloi has been working in Spier’s nursery for the last 10 years. Passionate about sharing his knowledge with his team members, he’s helping to restore the farm’s ecosystem to good health, through the growing and planting of millions of indigenous plants.
What do you love most about your job?
I love to see the success of what I’ve done – it’s great to go back and see the progress of the trees I’ve planted.
What’s the best thing about Spier?
There’s a lot of progress and growth – every year we continue to rehabilitate the farm through the planting of more indigenous trees.
What is your greatest strength?
I’m a hard worker and I love to learn more. I’m also good at teaching advising colleagues.
How do you make a positive difference to your community?
I coach and play with a soccer team.
Where is your favourite part of the farm, and why is it your favourite?
I love the agapanthus flowers and the River Walk.
What’s your favourite season?
I love autumn, when it’s not too hot or cold.
What’s the key to being happy in life?
Training and keeping fit.
What are you proudest of having achieved?
I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved on the farm – including the bulbs, we’ve planted millions of plants.
