Six treats for the kids at Spier this holiday
“I’m bored!” is the last thing you want to hear during the July holidays. Why not bring the kids to Spier, where there are plenty of fun things to keep them busy.
Get up close and personal with birds of prey. At Eagle Encounters rehabilitation centre, kids’ can take part in a breathtaking falconry display, hold an owl or eagle, and find out how raptors keep the Spier farm healthy and balanced.
Hang out in our Kids’ Clubhouse. While parents get up to more grown up activities (lunch or wine tasting, anyone?), our little hotel guests can spend time at the Kids’ Clubhouse which has a programme packed full of fun activities – including arts and crafts, stories, baking and farm walks. View our seasonal programme here.
Glide around the farm. Kids over 10 can explore the farm on one of our Segway PT tours, which take you past vineyards and pastures, our River Walk and more.
Discover a bamboo forest. When the family lunches at Eight, our farm-to-table restaurant (don’t worry – there’s a children’s menu too!), kids can play on the rolling lawns, jungle gym – and best of all – our secret bamboo ‘forest’.
Have a tasting. When Mom and Dad are sampling Spier’s acclaimed vintages, the kids get to have their very own grape juice tasting at the Tasting Room.
Tuck into a picnic. We’ve got specially made picnics for children, which includes favourites such as cheese and tomato on homemade rolls, yoghurt and root crisps. Order yours here.
