Spier Excels At 2015 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show
Spier scooped two trophies and two silver medals at the 14th edition of the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show.
At a ceremony at the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town yesterday, the Spier Woolworths Single Vineyard Windy Peak Sauvignon Blanc 2014 received the Nestle Pure Life Trophy for Best Sauvignon Blanc (Unwooded). The Spier Woolworths Single Vineyard The Hutton Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 won the American Express Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon. Spier 21 Gables Sauvignon Blanc 2014 was awarded a Silver medal and Bronze medals were awarded for:

- Spier Ideology Sauvignon Blanc 2012
- Spier Creative Block 2 2014
- Spier 21 Gables Chenin Blanc 2013
- Spier Woolworths Single Vineyard Koffieklip Merlot 2013
- Spier Woolworths Private Collection Chenin Blanc 2014
“Achieving wines of consistent excellence is very important to us, and the fact that we won awards for both red and white varietals show that our commitment to producing the highest quality wines is bearing fruit,” Frans Smit, Spier’s cellar master says.
The Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show saw 1082 wines tasted by nine local and international judges presided over by Michael Fridjhon, the renowned wine columnist and author.
