Garden Workshop: Discover Healing Herbs
Stinging nettle for strength, sage for a sore throat, lavender for headaches. Did you know your garden has a treasure trove of medicines?
One of the many perks of living in South Africa is the abundance of healing herbs growing in our fertile soils, but how do you know which ones to use and for what ailment? Registered Phytotherapy Practitioner Dr Caren Hauptfleisch will show you at this hands-on workshop on Herbal Medicine for Self-healing, hosted at Spier Food Garden.
Attendees will discover common healing herbs and learn how to use them safely and effectively to treat everyday maladies before enjoying a light snack and herbal tea experience. You can even take a few cuttings from the garden to nurture at home.
