About The Film:
Mlungu Wam is an internationally acclaimed horror satire from South Africa. Premiering at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival in the prestigious Platform Competition, the film has been praised for its complex, empathetic handling of race, class and gender in the new South Africa. After a successful international festival run, the film will finally come to local screens from October 2022.
Synopsis: Tsidi, a single mother, is forced to move in with her estranged mother Mavis, a live-in domestic worker caring obsessively for her mysterious, elderly ‘Madam’. As Tsidi tries to heal her family however, the spectres of her past begin to stir.
