Open daily from 08:00 to 17:00, the Kids Clubhouse offers fun and secure childcare services for our young hotel guests. While you are out wine tasting, sunbathing at the pool or enjoying lunch, you can relax, knowing your children are being thoughtfully cared for. We have a variety of developmentally-appropriate activities for ages 3 to 12, including crafts, farm walks and storytime.
ELEMENTAL PLAY GARDEN
The Spier Elemental Play Garden is just a stone’s throw from Spier Farm Café and Vadas Smokehouse & Bakery. It features a slide landscaped into earth mounds, a tunnel to crawl through, a swing bridge, and a Charl Conradie wind sculpture. You can even splash around in the water quadrant on hot summer days.
CHILDREN'S GRAPE JUICE TASTING
Our Wine Tasting Room overlooking the dam offers a grape juice tasting for kids, which includes a lucky packet, a tasting of two different grape juices and an educational activity sheet.
EAGLE ENCOUNTERS
Watch falcons soar in the sky and befriend eagles, hawks, owls, kites and buzzards at the bird of prey rehabilitation centre. Learn how our feathered friends help to keep the farm’s ecosystem in balance.
TIME TO EAT
All of our restaurants offer yummy menus to satisfy any young tummy. A special kid's picnic basket is also available from Spier Picnics.
VISIT THE SPIER FOOD GARDEN
The Spier Food Garden is open daily to visitors from 09.00 to sunset. Meander at your own pace, book a self-harvest experience, or simply pop by to meet the Pest Control Patrol: 15 Indian runner ducks.
Special age-appropriate toy boxes for children can be booked in advance of your arrival and delivered to your room, or requested when you check-in. Subject to availability.
PEDAL POWER
Ride along safe rustic roads, taking in the sights, smells and sounds of farm life. There are bikes for kids and adults available from reception so you can saddle up together as a family.
THE FARM IS YOUR PLAYGROUND
Climb boulders and swing from trees at the most action-packed adventure spot on the Werf, or go on a Scavenger Hunt in search of butterflies, birds, acorns and squirrels.
