Celebrate Spring With Our Garden Town Events
It’s that time of year when you realise there is more pep in your step, a bigger smile on your dial, and that beautiful feeling of Spring having sprung. Put on your sunblock and experience life on Spier’s thriving family farm during the second year of Stellenbosch’s annual Garden Town festival.
Stellenbosch Garden Town is back! And you know what that means – 10 days of Stellenbosch showing off all of its natural beauty. Think of Garden Town as a uniquely local take on the famous flower festival of Girona in Spain. From 20-30 October, visit Stellenbosch for garden tours, guided walks, art exhibitions, and, very importantly, wining and dining.
Here’s what is on offer at Spier:

Meet the Tree-preneurs
Meeting Spier’s Tree-preneurs will leave you feeling inspired and hopeful in the knowledge that the future of our indigenous trees and plants is in safe hands. Not usually open to the public, visitors will learn about the exciting work we’re doing to make our farm – and the planet – even greener. Our project manager Lesley will walk you through the nursery and share uplifting stories about the project and its people.

Garden inspired food & wine
A trip into the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands would not be complete without sampling good food and wine. Great news then, Spier has both in abundance. Test your taste buds at the Tasting Room with our new Spring wine and food pairing. Four carefully selected Spier wines interact playfully with unique food choices, leaving your mouth wanting more.
When you’re done, grab a seasonally-inspired picnic basket and find a patch of lush green lawn or a shady spot underneath an ancient oak tree to enjoy. Lay down your picnic blanket (supplied with your basket) and take your time listening to birds chirp, children play and farm life pass you by.
