Good Friday Dinner At The Manor House
Celebrate the flavours of Easter
At the heart of Spier’s historical farm, sits an iconic building: The Manor House with its antique gable, which dates back to 1822. Over the past few months, The Manor House has been beautifully restored to host small, intimate food and wine experiences. Guests can feast on good food and wine, gaze upon renowned contemporary art pieces from the Spier collection, and contemplate the fine balance between past and present.
Join us for a special Easter dinner to commemorate Good Friday. Savour your good fortune over a sublime four-course meal that celebrates the best of traditional South African Easter cuisine, prepared by Chef Phil Carmicheal in the open hearth kitchen.
Begin the evening with delicious canapés in the drawing room, taking time to appreciate Wim Botha’s Mieliepap Pieta sculpture. Then find your place at the 26-seater long table in the main dining area for a starter of pickled fish. For the main course, mouthwatering lamb served family-style with fresh seasonal vegetables harvested from the Spier Food Garden. For dessert, treat yourself to chef Phil’s take on a hot cross bun.
Using only ingredients from our pastures, gardens and carefully selected local suppliers, the dishes will be expertly paired with Spier’s flagship Frans K. Smit wines.
