The vocational skills that these bursary recipients are learning include cooking, childcare as well as taking care of the elderly. Others are enrolled in a needlework course that will empower them to run their own clothes-making and repairing businesses from home. These courses will equip people with skills and experience needed to earn an income and generate employment. This investment in vocational development is one of Spier’s Growing for Good learning initiatives. These empower communities to create positive social and environmental change.
