Toasting – And Tasting – To Spier Chenin Blanc
It is Chenin celebration time, with international #DrinkChenin Day on 17 June, a Chenin Safari starting on 18 June – and very exciting Chenin-centric news to share.
For the first time in 23 years, we are planting new Chenin Blanc vines on the farm for our organic wines. Breaking new ground – or soil specifically – requires careful preparation and planning to ensure the grapes thrive on the vines. Last week, we prepped the soil to a depth of 1.2 metres so the roots could grow with unrestrained freedom across the 2.8-hectare vineyard.
Like most good things in life, patience and timing are everything. So while you’re probably eager to experience these new wines soon, you will have to wait a little – around three years until the first harvest! But right now, you can taste our award-winning and much-loved selection of Chenin Blanc at our Cheers to Chenin tasting experience as part of the Chenin Safari.
