Seaward Pinotage
Black cherries and mulberry introduce a rich, complex middle palate with hints of all spice and vanilla. This medium- to full-bodied wine shows great balance and beautiful integration.

AWARDS:
Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2020 - 83,4
WINEMAKER: Johan Jordaan
ORIGIN: Stellenbosch
TERROIR / SOIL:
Decomposed granite with clay subsoil, up to 15 km from the cold False Bay coastline and 100 to 150 meters above sea level.
VINEYARD AND CLIMATE CONDITIONS:
Topography ranges from flat to southeastern-facing slopes that are cooler, thus promoting fruit preservation. Rich, deep, decomposed granite soils with good water retention and medium fertility resulted in low, concentrated yields that contributed to the complexity and tannin structure of the wine.
WINEMAKING:
Grapes were hand-harvested, de-stemmed and cold-soaked for two days in stainless-steel tanks for colour extraction and fruit preservation. Fermentation was completed in 15 days. The wine was racked to 40% new and 60% third-fill barrels to continue malolactic fermentation in a combination of 80% French and 20% American oak barrels and matured for 14 months before blending.
This wine received Control Union Vegan Standard certification by the accredited certifying body Control Union.
