Have you ever wanted to try your hand at wineblending? Now’s your chance! This immersive experience is bookable for groups of 10-30 and will teach you about the basics of wine blending, following which your group will be invited to blend your own special wine.

Now’s your chance to try out an utterly unique group experience! Visit the Riverhouse – where budding winemakers and lovers of art embark on a collective journey into creativity. You are invited to create an original tasting blend, and even test your design skills by making your team's wine label.

The Riverhouse is decked out with 418 Creative Block artworks from emerging and established artists. Collectors choose a number of blocks and hang them together, building an impactful, collective artwork that has the potential to be greater than the sum of its parts. Because of the synergy between this process and the art of blending wine, Spier named its blended wine range after the project – the award-winning Creative Block 2, 3 and 5 wines.

For winemakers, wine blending combines the best qualities of individual wines to create something completely new – just like Spier’s Creative Block blends. For guests to the Riverhouse, wine blending is an opportunity to flex those impressive winemaker muscles.

Groups of 10 to 30 people can gather together to enjoy each other’s company, creative art, and great wine. Taste, blend – get creative. Both the featured wines and Creative blocks on display can be purchased at the venue.

The Riverhouse is open on a booking-only basis
Cost: R300 per person

The Creative Block Project

This project by Spier Arts Trust, invites artists to create artworks on a small blank canvas, which are submitted for critique, with the best being purchased for resale to corporate patrons and the general public. The project offers artists a vital revenue stream, and the opportunity to expand their creativity and artistic territory, while gaining considerable exposure by connecting with art collectors around the world.
