Rounded, creamy and super-concentrated, with an extended finish that makes an explosive, mouthwatering impression. Tropicals, a little elderflower, interesting hints of citrus, and a touch of smokiness from wood extraction. On the palate, a flash of vanilla and bright, integrated acidity.
Frans K. Smit Red Blend 2017
Picked ripe, albeit in a very good vintage, this is a big, bold, age-worthy blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with 50% Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Showing lots of scented new oak, serious tannins, layers of damson, cassis and blueberry fruit and a hint of graphite, it's a serious wine that needs time to integrate fully.
