Welcome To Spier Wine Farm, Stellenbosch

Spier is a regenerative wine farm in Stellenbosch, 40 minutes from Cape Town, where wine has been made since 1692. Our cellar – the oldest dated cellar still in use in South Africa – sits within 650 hectares of restored indigenous renosterveld and fynbos. Our 76-room hotel is surrounded by rewilded fynbos gardens along the Eerste River, reflecting more than 30 years of ecological restoration grounded in soil health.

Stay to experience our spa's Cape Herbal Bath House using botanicals grown on the farm, taste internationally awarded wines and food from our gardens and pastures, appreciate contemporary South African art and local craft and design, and explore wine heritage spanning more than three centuries.

Our wine collections

Award-winning Stellenbosch wines from regeneratively farmed vineyards, rooted in our commitment to craft, people and land. We believe good wines not only originate in good soil but are crafted by good people. Nine collections span everyday drinking wines, carbon-light canned wines, certified organic ranges, the single-varietal 21 Gables, and our flagship Frans K Smit blends. Stay at Spier

Our 76-room hotel and spa offers in-house guests exclusive access to a heated outdoor pool, rooftop bar, and Buzz Club for kids. Days unfold at your own pace, with everything the farm offers within walking distance – wine tasting, walking and biking trails, picnics, art installations, the Cowshed Shop, and Vadas Smokehouse & Bakery.
