The Spier Arts Trust, was established to generate shared value for the makers and buyers of South African art. Through curating art portfolios and managing visual arts projects, the trust facilitates collaboration as well as growth opportunities for visual artists and artisans in South Africa.
Constellations at Spier: Guardians Revealed
Starting 26 November, this event takes several small groups of guests on an outdoor trail through the enchanting, wild parts of the farm after dark. The groups rotate amongst a sequence of three campfires on the path. Every campfire is presided over by its own unique Guardian – an artist, poet, musician, performer or storyteller – who will host an experience that is enthralling, moving and delightful. Guests have no idea which Guardians they will encounter on their journey: every Campfire reveals a new surprise.

Starting 26 November, we will host Constellations, conceptualised by internationally acclaimed theatre director and playwright Brett Bailey. Over the course of the evening, guests will enjoy intriguing encounters with a diverse array of local cultural talents under starry skies.
SPIER LIGHT ART 2021: CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Spier is proud to announce the third edition of Spier Light Art, to be exhibited throughout the historic Stellenbosch wine farm from 26 February to 28 March 2021. Designers, architects, light-, sound- and video artists – as well as students and institutions – are invited to submit expressions of interest for projects and video-based artworks that are engaging to all age groups.
Street Art at Spier train station spotlights importance of wine and hospitality industries
A mural by street artist Ello Xray Eyez on the walls of the train station opposite the farm entrance offers a powerful reminder of the importance of wine and hospitality to the Western Cape economy. Both sectors have been hit hard by the pandemic.
