A Summer Dream at Spier

A Summer Dream Returns Under the Stars

On three December evenings, Spier’s amphitheatre will fill with dancers, musicians, singers and actors as A Summer Dream returns for its fifth year. Produced by Brett Bailey of Third World Bunfight and set to the music of Jak Tomas, this hour-long performance brings music, movement and storytelling together beneath the stars. It’s a joyful start to the festive season, made for the whole family.

With the festive season just around the corner, it’s a good excuse to gather friends and family and make an evening of it. Ticketing opens at 18:00, leaving plenty of time for a Farmer Angus burger from Bubbles & Braai, a Vadas pizza or a sunset Spier picnic on the Werf before the performance.

Good to know

The amphitheatre is a short walk from the Werf, so comfortable shoes are recommended. If you have a food ticket, we recommend bringing a picnic blanket to enjoy your meal on the lawn. Chairs are provided for the performance and space is limited, so please leave your own at home. Summer evenings can turn cool once the sun goes down, so bring an extra layer.
If bad weather is expected, we’ll contact you on the day of the event to confirm whether the performance will go ahead.

Biological Renaissance: a deep dive with Zach Bush MD

We’re standing at a threshold. The old models - of medicine as war against the body, of agriculture as war against the soil, of economics as extraction without relationship - are collapsing under their own weight. In their place, something new is emerging: a return to natural law, to the intelligence already encoded in biological systems, waiting to be remembered rather than invented.
